The Sound of Music has become one of the most enduring and successful musicals among the great American musicals, featuring beloved standards such as "My Favorite Things," "Edelweiss," "Do-Re-Mi" and "The Sound of Music." This 1959 Broadway production--starring Mary Martin and Theodore Bikel- won five Tony Awards including "Best Musical." Upon original release, this cast album spent 16 weeks as number 1 on the Billboard chart. Mastered from the original 3-track master tape and pressed on 180g vinyl.
