They Might Be Giants' new book + music project is called BOOK. It is available in many formats: a deluxe first-edition book + download + CD set, as well in stand-alone vinyl, CD, and cassette. BOOK lands in October and is now available for pre-order. 15 new songs AND a 144-page full-color, hard-bound book, BOOK is a remarkable album and art object.

BOOK the book is a collaboration between They Might Be Giants, photographer Brian Karlsson and Paul Sahre. The lyrics in the book are selected from the new album, I Like Fun, and My Murdered Remains; all set in layouts that might be best described as concrete poetry. Paul Sahre actually typed up all the lyrics manually on an IBM Selectric typewriter from the early 1970s.

These first editions of BOOK are 12" x 12" (that fits perfectly in any LP collection, or on any coffee table). It's hard-bound, cloth-cover, and printed on super-thick paper stock. It comes with a CD in a little envelope inside the back cover, as well as a code for an instant download.

They Might Be Giants' brand new project is a deluxe set: a 144-page cloth-bound hardcover art book of full-color photography by Brian Karlsson, as well as original TMBG lyrics graphically set in the style of concrete poetry by world-famous designer Paul Sahre on an IBM Selectric typewriter from the early '70s. The featured lyrics are selections from BOOK, a forthcoming EP, My Murdered Remains, and I Like Fun. Inside every book of BOOK there is a copy of the musical album BOOK on an indestructible compact disc, and everyone who orders the book of BOOK will get an instantaneous download on release day. Both the fancy WAV format and the practical MP3 format will be available to you.

The book of BOOK will have a first-edition pressing of 10,000 copies. Currently, more than 7,000 have been pre-sold.
