Third Studio Album on Double LP!
Thievery Corporation's third studio album, The Richest Man in Babylon, was originally released in 2002 by ESL Music. Featuring both electronic and live instrumentation, the album combines influences such as dub, jazz, dance, rap, reggae and Indian music, while also incorporating protest music into the group's sound. Highlights include "All That We Perceive," "Heaven's Gonna Burn Your Eyes," "Un Simple Histoire," and "Until the Morning," with contributions from Emiliana Torrini, LouLou, Pam Bricker, Notch, and more.
The epitome of sonic glamour.
Old-world rhythms, easy-listening flourishes, hues of 60's-era jazz — you practically need a passport to jump from track to track.
Hands down, an early contender for album of the year.
They've built a world where records can, once again, be things of beauty.
Garza and Hilton are connoisseurs of realms and fineries most of us only dream about.
Thievery Corporation can steal your ears.
