On Echoes of a Note, trumpet player Tiger Okoshi pays homage to his musical Hero, Louis Armstrong, interpreting 10 traditional tunes with a thoroughly contemporary spin. Gil Goldstein, Bela Fleck and Mike Stern join Tiger on accordion, banjo and electric guitar respectively, creating a truly unique instrumental setting for SatchmoÂ’s music.

The predecessor to TigerÂ’s Stereophile Recording of the Month, Two Sides to Every Story. This disc was also produced by Akira Taguchi (co-creator of the XRCD process).
