Traffic established themselves in the late '60s as one of the foremost proponents of British rockers fueled on American rhythm, blues and soul. The main core of Traffic - Steve Winwood (vocals, keyboards & guitar), Jim Capaldi (drums & vocals) and Chris Wood (woodwinds) - reunited in 1971 enlisting additional players to augment their sound.

Originally released in 1971, The Low Spark... features jazz rock, prog rock as well as classic rock and reached number 7 on the Billboard Pop Album charts of 1972.
