Willie Nelson is a musical phenomenon and an American icon. His legendary musical career began in the 50s, followed with a plethora of hit songs written for the likes of Ray Price, Patsy Cline and Roy Orbison, and then his own six decade long recording career in the country, rock, pop, adult, and even jazz genres, sharing his legendary vocal, guitar and songwriting persona for millions of fans worldwide.
With 1982s Always On My Mind LP, Willie Nelson created one of the most successful top charting hit albums of all time. The LP features Willies stellar vocal and guitar interpretations on the definitive outlaw version of Procol Harums "A Whiter Shade Of Pale" (featuring Waylon Jennings), his melancholy #1 title track "Always On My Mind," plus an incredible reading of Aretha Franklins "Do Right Woman, Do Right Man."
Alongside great versions of tunes like "Bridge Over Troubled Water" by Simon & Garfunkel, you also get some masterful Willie Nelson originals like the LP closer "The Partys Over." All in all, making Always On My Mind the legendary album it is and always will be.
