Out of Print Since 2007 - Once Again Available!
Classic Reissued on Vinyl With "It Could Have Been a Brilliant Career" Obi Strip!
As Belle and Sebastian finish work on their ninth studio album (recorded in Atlanta with Ben H. Allen for worldwide release via Matador Records), Matador is excited to announce that their vinyl catalogue currently out of print will be back in print for a limited time.
The It Could Have Been A Brilliant Career series is an opportunity to revisit the bands treasured output and unique, consistent aesthetic, as well as an opportunity for fans to complete their collections and enjoy the music via the warmth of vinyl.
Push Barman to Open Old Wounds is a 2005 compilation released by Belle & Sebastian. The collection contains singles and EPs they released for Jeepster Records from 1997-2001. Often considered the best of the band's work, and previously only available as hard-to-find imports or (for three of them) in a box set, this compilation includes 25 songs. The four tracks from the 'This Is Just A Modern Rock Song' EP have never been released in the States before in any form.
The compilation was received extremely well scoring a score of 9.2 out of 10 at Pitchfork Media, calling Belle & Sebastian "The most beloved indie pop band since the Smiths, (and) also probably the best."
"Push Barman to Open New Wounds is essential listening..." -Tim Sendra
