Howard Hanson conducts the Eastman-Rochestra Symphony Orchestra for this recording of Symphonic Sketches by George Chadwick.

As a director of the Eastman School of Music from 1924-1964, Hanson built a high-quality school and provided opportunities for commissioning and performing American music. He was awarded a Pulitzer Prize in 1944 for his Symphony No. 4.
