Limited Edition White Vinyl LP!
First Time On Vinyl!

Compass Records is proud to announce the release of Colin Hay's (Men at Work) 2000 classic Going Somewhere on vinyl for the first time. The release will include a limited pressing of white vinyl on the first 1000 units.

Going Somewhere features some of Colin's best known solo work, including "Beautiful World," "Waiting For My Real Life To Begin," and "I Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over You," which was featured in the hit film, Garden State, starring Zach Braff. The song has also been featured in a number of television series: Dawson's Creek, Judging Amy, and others, including being sung by the cast in Scrubs. Singer/songwriter/guitarist, John Mayer, said of the track, "This is without a doubt my favorite song of the year. I'm still trying for a tune like this of my own. It's my favorite kind of ballad, 'chin up' sadness that even a cold bastard would get swept away by: 'And if I lived till I could no longer climb my stairs / I just don't think I'll ever get over you.' No further comments."

Hay is responsible for some of the most recognizable and well-known pop songs of the 20th Century and attracting a new generation of fans who are responding to Colin's distinct voice and beautiful songwriting through film and television.

Colin Hay is still happily living down his years leading the new wave group Men At Work. But as any dedicated fan will tell you, there's much more to the singer-songwriter than another replay of 'Down Under' or 'Overkill.' If there's a need for an entry point into Hay's still active solo career, this album from 2000 might be your best bet. This vinyl reissue (with limited copies on white wax) is a bit of a reconfigured version of the original release. The tracklist gets shuffled to fit the music on one LP with a lovely acoustic version of Hay's breathtaking 'I Just Don't Think I'll Get Over You' (a song featured on the soundtrack to Garden State) is added to the end. The rest of the album is just as quietly powerful as that added tune with Hay embracing middle age and his mild hopes for the future with a knowing grin and a bit of a backache.
