Joining acclaimed saxophonist Ernie Watts on this lush quartet recording are Mulgrew Miller on piano, George Mraz on acoustic bass and Jimmy Cobb, originally of the Coltrane/Davis quartet, on drums. Classic Moods, which features a set of classic tunes rendered with Watt’s unmistakably spirited touch, is the first project to be recorded exclusively for release as an XRCD.
