Papa's Got a Brand New Bag is the eleventh studio album by American musician James Brown. The album was released in 1965, by King. The year 2015 marks the 50th anniversary of James Brown's classic release "Papa's Got A Brand New Bag" hitting #1 on the R&B chart for two months straight. The album is now reissued on vinyl LP. The song "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag" was released as a 2-part single in 1965 and was Brown's first to reach the Billboard Hot 100 top Ten. The song won James Brown his first Grammy Award for Best Rhythm & Blues Recording.
