200 Gram Super-Heavyweight Vinyl LP!
Newly Cut from Robert Fripp Approved Masters!
Islands is the sixth in a series of audiophile King Crimson vinyl reissues. The album's return to the 12" vinyl format is newly cut from masters approved by Robert Fripp.
Manufactured on 200g super-heavyweight vinyl & housed in a reprint of the original gatefold sleeve, this edition also contains bonus MP3 codes giving access to a download of a transfer of an original 1971 pressing (taken from Robert Fripp's personal file copy of the album).
Islands is a frequently beautiful and sometimes unfairly overlooked part of King Crimson's always intriguing back catalog.
"There are also a few surprises, such as the Beatles-like harmonies on the raunchy "Ladies of the Road" and the extraordinary interweaving of electric guitar and Mellotron by Robert Fripp on "A Sailor's Tale, which is one of the highlights of the early- to mid-period group's output." -Bruce Eder, allmusic.com
