This commercially successful live album by keyboardist Rick Wakeman is a concept album based on the Jules Verne sci-fi novel and was recorded January 18, 1974 at the Royal Festival Hall in London.

Rick Wakeman (of Yes fame) created this powerful, synthesized orchestral piece. LSO and the English Chamber Choir conducted by David Measham. Performing on synthesizer, Wakeman is joined by narrator David Hemmings, Garry Pickford-Hopkins and Ashley Holt (vocals), Mike Egan (guitar), Roger Newell (bass) and Barney James (drums).
