The romantic comedy Some Like It Hot was released in 1959 and starred Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis, and the voluptuous Marilyn Monroe. The story is set in 1929 about two musicians who dress in drag in order to escape from gangsters who committed a crime to which Curtis and Lemmon's characters were witness. The film is considered by many to be one of the greatest films of all time and was voted as top comedy film by the American Film Institute on their 100 Years... 100 Laughs poll in 2000.

The soundtrack to the film features 3 songs performed by Marilyn Monroe, 9 songs composed by Adolph Deutsch, as well as 2 performed by jazz musician Matty Malneck.
