180g Vinyl Reissue of Classic Reunion Album!
In 1977, the five original Animals from the group's first incarnation Eric Burdon, Alan Price, Hilton Valentine, Chas Chandler, and John Steel, reunited to record their first album in 9 years.
With exceptional vocals and keyboards by Burdon and Price, and the production by bass player Chandler making the band sound better than ever without losing that famous live feeling of their earlier albums, this is one of the best recordings made by the band. However, having been released at the height of the disco and punk eras, with very little promotion by the record label and no follow-up tour, it is also one of the most overlooked recordings in rock history.
Highlights include Erics powerful rendition of Jimmy Cliffs gospel-tinged Many Rivers To Cross and the bluesy interpretation of Dylans classic Its All Over Now Baby Blue, while the fantastic Fire On The Sun along with The Fool and As The Crow Flies combines the blues, rock and R&B of the Animals trademark 60s sound.
Now reissued as a 180g vinyl LP, be sure not to miss out on this almost lost classic!
"...a lost classic... fits in very neatly with their preceding work, as though they'd scarcely skipped a beat." -Bruce Eder, allmusic.com
