On Pillow Book, The Curios create a quirky and beautifully complex musical
universe. Others have described this music as
freak-folk-funk-psychedelic-cabaret, a juicy blend of mystery-rich, textural
grooves and cliché-free lyrics, alternately abstract and narrative!
Award winning singer/songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Nancy Hall (background singer with Neil Young & Crazy Horse) and Lee Parvin are the creative core of The Curios. Their song "Hope for the Modern Man" won in the folk category of the first-ever John Lennon Songwriting contest; Ani Difranco was a judge.
Besides singing backing vocals with Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Nancy Hall has toured with the likes of Emmy Lou Harris and Lucinda Williams.
