This 2-LP on 1-CD set highlights two of the earliest Kinks releases: The Kinks (You Really Got Me) and Kinda Kinks, originally released in England on Pye in 1964, was re-released in the U.S. by Reprise with the title You Really Got Me. This U.S. recording generated their first hit, You Really Got Me. The song reached #7 on the charts. The Rolling Stone Album Guide says this song's 'crunching riffs set the pattern for all heavy rock, from metal to punk...' The 1965 Kinda Kinks (also on Pye and Reprise) produced several more great Ray Davies songs including Tired Of Waiting For You.
