VPI Lift Replacement
My old lift was leaking and did not work any longer. I replaced it, which was very easy to install. The lift works like a charm; I did note the lever was slightly shorter than the original.

VPI Tonearm Lifter & Cueing Device - good!
I ordered this as a replacement for my original Scout tonearm lifter, which was all done for. It's an exact drop-in replacement - easy! The cueing lever is a little shorter, which at first I didn't care for, but I eventually discovered that it's actually more convenient to place the plinth-top cover on as the previous cueing lever was so long I would occasionally "catch" it when placing it on top. So while it's slightly different, it's an improvement here. Thanks!

VPI Tonearm Lifter/Cueing Device Sticking, my solution......
I had this same issue on a Classic Signature when new. Would lower about 70% of the way down by itself then stuck, had to use my finger, gently, pushed it down the rest of the way. I happened to have a bottle of machine lubricating oil with a telescoping spout. Put a VERY SMALL drop on the cueing device shaft, worked it up/down several times. Not only did it solve the sticking issue, but now the arm actually lowers too fast, so therefore while cueing down the arm, I have to do it in a very controlled manner.

The original would not let me drop needle where I wanted it. This one works great.
