Limited Edition 180g Clear With Purple Splatter Vinyl LP!
New West Records began releasing music in 1998 and one of the labels earliest successes came in the form of their partnership with the Drive-By Truckers and the music that this historic band would create. With over one million records sold across the New West - DBT catalog it is safe to say that there is a solid and ever growing fanbase for this culturally impactful band. New West is proud to celebrate over 15 years worth of music and releases by FINALLY releasing the Drive-By Trucker back catalogue on color vinyl.
The Drive-By Truckers are back with another kickass record. A Blessing And A Curse is the band's hardest rockin' album yet. It is fitting that the final words on the album are "It's great to be alive." The songs on this record illustrate the triumphant struggle it takes to survive and thrive in this world. A Blessing And A Curse is not only a great record, but an important statement delivered honestly and passionately without any sugar coating or details spared. It's a refinement, a honing, and a focusing of what you've always loved about them, and what makes this band the greatest band in the world.
"Most of this album was recorded in a couple of weeks up at Mitch Easter's fantastic recording facility The Fidelitorium in beautiful little Kernersville NC back in August of 2005. We finished it, tidied up, cut a couple of extra tracks and mixed it back home in Athens GA at Chase Park Transduction. Most of the album was written around the time it was recorded. About half the songs were recorded within hours of being written. Thanks to our friend Danny Clinch for inspiring the title of the album." - Drive-By Truckers
