Produced by Rick Rubin and Daron Malakian, 'Steal This Album!' was released November 2002 and reached #15 on the Billboard Top 200.

Early in 2002, digital versions of the album were released on the internet titled Toxicity II. The band was disappointed for the fans hearing material that was unfinished so they worked to release a better quality version which became known as "Steal This Album". Two songs on Toxicity II are absent from the final album - "Virginity" and "Outer Space". However, Steal This Album contains four songs not found on Toxity II - "F**k the System", "Ego Brain", "Roulette" and "Innervision.
